Make Alliance With Righteous Causes

Scriptural Highlight: ( 2Kings 9:17 ) - "Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he saw the company of Jehu as he came and said, 'I see a company.' And Joram said, 'Take a horseman and send to meet them and let them say, 'is it well'. So a man on horseback went to meet them and said, 'Thus says the king, 'is it peace?' And Jehu answered, 'what do you have to do with peace? Turn and ride behind me." Our scriptural highlight for today showcases a scene of battle between righteousness and evil. Joram king of Israel belonged to the family of Ahab and Jezebel, people that have troubled Israel with their sorcery, covetousness and blood spills. And a word of prophecy from Elijah had gone out against this evil house saying, "Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will utterly sweep thee away and will cut off from Ahab every man-child...(1Kings 21:21). So, in effect, God located Jehu and anointed him to fight

MY PAST HUNTS ME! HOW DO I DEAL WITH IT NOW THAT AM IN CHRIST?

DRAW A LINE BETWEEN YOUR PAST AND YOUR FUTURE ! Many people come to Christ daily but battle with the memories of their past life which probably was rough, painful or traumatic. I have seen many people who struggled to live their new found faith in Christ just because a terrible past life comes hunting: I have seen some who got delivered from occult involvements, terrible abuses, sexual lifestyles and other dehumanizing struggles battling to live the Christian life because of the height of what they had been through. For some of them even when God has forgiven their sins, they find it hard to forgive themselves. So the devil takes advantage of the struggle, self condemnation or guilt to hinder their growth in the things of the spirit. But the Bible teaches that, he that is in Christ is a new creation, old things are past away and behold all things are new. No matter what a person has done, as long as the person has not grieved the Holy Spirit, he can be saved. So the que

Counsel: Sis. Ella

Relationship: "I Don't Wants To Fall Prey!" Sis. Ella:   " Bro Oleka, good morning Sir. It's been a long time. I trust you are fine and still moving in the Faith. Sir please I want to confide in you on something very serious and important. I believe you can help me in the place of prayer and advice too. I got into a relationship with a brother friend of mine. He is born again and very spiritual. Everything have been o.k, but we are having emotional problems presently. We know it's a plot from Satan, so  I need your prayers and words from you. I don't want to fall prey!" This was a text message that greeted my phone one morning before a call from the dear sister woke me up. Below are the conversation that we had based on the text, later on, when I was ready to counsel:   Ride The Tide:  " Hi Sis. Ella, tell me more about your relationship. First of all, is it God that is bringing you guys together?"   Sis. Ella: "Ye

What Image are you carrying?

Scriptural Highlight: ( Genesis 5:3 ) - "When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth." Our scriptural highlight for today is about the generations of Adam after creation. Reading down from verses 1 and  2 of this Genesis chapter 5, we can see that when God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. Man was made in God's image; and as God's image was meant to reproduce God's image as well. You can say that man was god on earth. Man operated in a realm higher than any other creature. Man was in a class of his own. Man remained God's image until he disobeyed God. From our scriptural highlight today, what we see is that when Abraham had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image. What happened to the image and likeness of God in which he was created? It has been lost through sin. The nature he now carried was his own image and not God's.  His own offspring

Appeal for Consecration

Scriptural Highlight : ( Romans12:1 ) - "I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship." In this scripture, God is making an appeal through the writer, Apostle Paul. What is an appeal? To appeal is to make an earnest request for something; another meaning of  appeal is to make a review on something. So in our scriptural highlight, Paul was earnestly requesting that brethren (believers in Christ) in Rome present their bodies to God as a living sacrifices; Paul was reviewing a charge he already gave to the Roman church - that is to say, God was re-emphasizing to the church the need to submit themselves as living sacrifices. Also notice that the appeal God was making through Paul was based on the mercies of God: "I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God..." It is as if Paul was saying in essence, "brethren wh

Realm of Solutions

Scriptural Highlight: ( Mathew 15:32-33 ) - "Then  Jesus called His disciples and said, "I have compassion on the crowd because they have been  with me now three days and have nothing to eat. And I am unwilling to send them away hungry, lest they faint on the way." From our scriptural highlight let's note the following: The crowd have been with Jesus for three days; Jesus by Himself noticed and felt the need in the life of the crowd which is at that moment, hunger; Jesus made moves to solve the immediate problems He noticed in the life of the crowd. Beloved let's learn from the actions of Jesus in our scriptural highlight for today. When we forgo everything to be with Jesus, our problems becomes God's problem. When we stay in the atmosphere of God's presence, He Himself notices our needs and begins to move on our behalf. Most times we are in a haste in God's presence; we rush out before we have even made any qual

Heavy Weight In The Making

When am building strength, I don't see the strength. But when am done building strength I start seeing strength. Today's heavy weights were yesterday's lighter weights. They just kept building their strength. Every professional was an amateur. Ever seen people braking strong large rocks. They keep hitting over and over: one, ten, twenty, on an on, until a final strike shatters the rock to pieces. It was not just that one final blow that did the magic; every single blow was part of the shattering work. But the blows just had to keep hitting the rock for the final effect to come by. What a life lesson. Work is simply forfeiting today's ease for bigger, better and more rewarding comfort tomorrow. But don't work hard, work smart. Working Hard
