REJOICE IN THE WORD

REJOICE IN THE WORD OF GOD

Scriptural Highlight: (Psalm 119:162) - "I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil."

From the gospel of John, chapter 1, we can deduce that the Word of God is not just what was spoken but a person: the Word is Jesus; the Word was in the beginning with God; all things were made through Him; the Word is life; the Word is the light of men; and the Word has dominion over darkness.

So from our scriptural highlight for today, we can see the reaction of Brother David: he rejoices when he catches a revelation from the word of God. Since the word of God is a person, when He is revealed, divinity is revealed;  because the word of God was in the beginning, Moses caught the Word and he wrote the book of beginnings; since through the Word, God created things, when the Word is revealed creative miracles also take place; since the Word is life, anyone who receives the word of God receives eternal life; and since the Word is light, it gives us power to dominate darkness. This was why David rejoiced at the word of God. Because in the Word of God he has the answer to every human question.
There is a great man of God we read about today: In his lifetime, whenever there was any issue in the ministry, he would go into meditation on the word of God. Then suddenly when he sees a revelation from the Bible, he will run round the house celebrating. He will shout, "we have found the solution from the word!"; and just like that the solution would come.

In our days, it seems we celebrate our club's victory more than the word of God; we celebrate business breakthrough more the word of God. But the word of God is the treasure of life, nothing can take its place, not even singing, not even the entertainment that seems to be taken over pulpits. It amazes me that if you enter some congregations, entertainment, singing, announcements, fundraising are being given topmost attention than the word of God. How can the saints that are supposed to be equipped for the work of ministry according to Ephesian 4:12 be empowered. Nothing works in kingdom outside of the word of God. Everything will be tried by fire, only the works done by the word of will remain unconsumed. Are we condemning the other activities? No. The word of God teaches that everything should be done in moderation. The early disciples gave themselves to the teaching of apostles and the Church prospered.

True deliverance takes place when the truth of the word of God shows up in a man's spirit. Jesus said in John 8:32, "And you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free." In the euphoria of prophetic we see these days, and the amusements, there is always the temptation to wonder off,  but the word of God is always first, and must be given first place. Beloved, go for the word, rejoice in it, it is your strength. Flourish!

Pray: Lord, let your word show up and prevail for me in any circumstance in Jesus name.

The Issue With Wealth II

There is a point one can get to in life where money is no longer a challenge. If one reaches this level and care is not taken, you may discover that dependence on God on certain issues may begin to decline. Because some of the things the person used to pray about, money can now provide them. There is another category of people who have all the money they will ever need in life; and there are others that have never known what is called lack all their life. These kind of people may never understand if you tell them how impoverished people are, out their. They may see it in the television or in the papers but they may not fully come to terms with it. Some in this group can put people down to make sure they maintain position. Then, finally we have the poor folks and those trying to make ends meet. I have one problem with this last two category, especially the poor, they always think that the rich is the cause of their poverty. You may never blame someone who was born with a silver

Establish Your Hearts

Scriptural Highlight: ( James 5: 8 ) – “Be ye also patient, establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” In the time of the early disciples, they thought that the second coming of the Lord Jesus was going to be in their days. As a result, there was a kind of life they lived: They lived every day of their lives expecting His return; They lived prepared and consecrated lives, totally sold out to the Lord. So even when the Lord did not yet come, they did mind blowing exploits and died in the Lord. In our scriptural highlight for today, James was writing and encouraging brethren to be patient, to establish their hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand. We are encouraged to be patient by the Holy Spirit not just because Christ’s coming may be delayed but because, believers could lose their fire, their faith or their zeal thinking that to delay is to annul. We were also encouraged to establish our hearts. The word, establish, is used also wi
