MY PAST HUNTS ME! HOW DO I DEAL WITH IT NOW THAT AM IN CHRIST?

DRAW A LINE BETWEEN YOUR PAST AND YOUR FUTURE ! Many people come to Christ daily but battle with the memories of their past life which probably was rough, painful or traumatic. I have seen many people who struggled to live their new found faith in Christ just because a terrible past life comes hunting: I have seen some who got delivered from occult involvements, terrible abuses, sexual lifestyles and other dehumanizing struggles battling to live the Christian life because of the height of what they had been through. For some of them even when God has forgiven their sins, they find it hard to forgive themselves. So the devil takes advantage of the struggle, self condemnation or guilt to hinder their growth in the things of the spirit. But the Bible teaches that, he that is in Christ is a new creation, old things are past away and behold all things are new. No matter what a person has done, as long as the person has not grieved the Holy Spirit, he can be saved. So the que

The Four Abilities of God (Pt3)

(3) Ability To Turn Captivity: "And the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before his captivity" (Job 42:10). The third ability of God am considering here is God's ability to turn any kind of captivity around. It does not matter how old it has lasted, God is older than every captivity. It does not matter how big the challenge is, our God is immeasurably and unquantifiable in might and power. It does not even matter the diagnosis that man in his learning and expertise has given to the captivity, God is bigger than the wisdom (analysis and understanding) of man. No matter what man learns and discovers tomorrow he is still limited where God is concerned. Consequently, it is only God that can turn captivity. Man can only try to treat but healing only comes from God. Some get certain challenges in life and they think that a more knowledgeable professional will be able to help but many

The Four Abilities of God Needed for a Turn Around (Pt2)

In part one of the topic: The Four Abilities of God Needed for a Turn Around, I started by saying that God has several abilities. If we truly understand some these, it will bring a kind of transformation that is marveling. The first ability I mentioned is His reconciling ability. Read the post for more on that. Today we are going further to the second one: (2) Ability to Cancel all our Debts: "And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by cancelling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross." (Colossians 2:13-14)

The Four Abilities of God Needed For a Turn Around

The reason people troop to the wrong places looking for answers to the various questions that life asked them is because many do not understand the ability of the Almighty God to save through Christ Jesus. Many have been duped, raped, destroyed and plundered because instead of coming to God who can truly save, they were deceived by people, personalities and powers claiming to offer solution.  God in Himself has several abilities that He has manifested at various times and I will just discuss shortly four out of the many needed to turn the situation of any man around:

Our Salvation Nearer Than When We First Believed

Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.(Romans 13:11)

The Issue With Wealth II

There is a point one can get to in life where money is no longer a challenge. If one reaches this level and care is not taken, you may discover that dependence on God on certain issues may begin to decline. Because some of the things the person used to pray about, money can now provide them. There is another category of people who have all the money they will ever need in life; and there are others that have never known what is called lack all their life. These kind of people may never understand if you tell them how impoverished people are, out their. They may see it in the television or in the papers but they may not fully come to terms with it. Some in this group can put people down to make sure they maintain position. Then, finally we have the poor folks and those trying to make ends meet. I have one problem with this last two category, especially the poor, they always think that the rich is the cause of their poverty. You may never blame someone who was born with a silver

Understanding The Leading of The HolySpirit

Every individual who has a relationship with God has a unique way God leads he or she. Personally, God has led me in different ways but one point is clear in my dealings with God: whenever there is a topic of importance, maybe something am neglecting and God wants my attention on it, He has a way of staying my heart on the topic. For instance, there is an article I perceive I should work on and I have been kind of ignoring it; but despite my trying to ignore it, the topic won't just go away; it looks like the topic has been posted in my heart that no matter what I do I can't just get it off my memory. That is one important way God leads his people: He puts an impression or a kind of sign in your heart. It can also come in form of a burden for you to do something or make moves to correct something that is wrong. However, it is important that prayers be made to get the correct message God wants to pass or  to get the correct line of action, because, for God to use this

Kindness -

Scriptural Highlight: (Proverbs 3:3-4) - "Let not kindness and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart: So shalt thou find favor and good understanding In the sight of God and man." Today's scriptural highlight admonishes us not to let kindness and truth depart from us. Kindness is a special treatment given to someone to make the person happy and to have an impression of being special. While truth is simply what God's word says: the Bible says that the "word of God is truth". Kindness is the outworking of God's love in our heart towards our neigbbours, our environment or society at large. As Children of God we are being enjoined to bind kindness like a cloak. What that means is that kindness should be seen in us everyday, every hour and every second. Some show kindness when they see someone they feel will be able help them with something, later; some show kindness when they feel it will give them good opini

Your Kidney Deserves The Best (Re-Post)

Barely two (2) days ago, we all received the news of the demise of a Nigerian actor as a result of same kidney disease. I want to show you how to avert this menace of kidney disease. Very easy and effective. And don't forget that I copied it. So feel free to share, copy and disseminate. SO HERE ARE THE TOP 6 CAUSE OF KIDNEY DISEASE: 1. Delaying going to a toilet Keeping your urine in your bladder for too long is a bad idea. A full bladder can cause bladder damage. The urine that stays in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly. Once the urine refluxes back to the ureter and kidneys, the toxic substances can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract infections, and then nephritis, and even uremia. When nature calls – do it as soon as possible. 2. Eating too much salt,You should eat no more than 5.8 grams of salt daily. 3. Eating too much meat. Too much protein in your diet is harmful for your kidneys. Protein digestion produces ammonia – a toxin that is very destru

Are We Becoming Too Used to Horror/Bad News?

I did a little traveling today and guess what I experienced. A journey of normally six hours on road, took us extra three hours. I was expecting to get to my destination latest, six or seven p.m. but I ended up reaching around 9 p.m. Why? We entered deadlocked traffic at different places caused by tragic accidents that had just happened. I can count up to four, five trailers that tumbled on the road or smashed into bush part at different points. At one point, I couldn't just bring myself to look at the tragic situation: they were bringing out dead bodies that just went to their early graves from a bridge where they just smashed into. What everyone did was normal, shake their heads and life continues. I guess we really have become used to tragedy. It now looks natural for people to die anyhow and it means nothing. When Bokoharam insurgency started in Nigeria, people used to shudder when they hear things like, "ten people or so, so number people got bombed at so, so, pl

Dwell on The Positives

That some things seem to be lacking your life now is not the absence of them.   What the enemy wants to remind you are your failings, your rejections, dejection and things lacking in your life.  Because, he knows that as long as you dwell on the negatives, your outcome remains negative. But in this platform, we want to remind you of victories, of success, of abundant life, all in Christ. You are what God says you are: blessed!  True blessing starts from knowing am truly blessed. No wonder 2Peter1:2 says, "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord!"  Knowledge in things of God is a multiplier of God's blessings.

Establish Your Hearts

Scriptural Highlight: ( James 5: 8 ) – “Be ye also patient, establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” In the time of the early disciples, they thought that the second coming of the Lord Jesus was going to be in their days. As a result, there was a kind of life they lived: They lived every day of their lives expecting His return; They lived prepared and consecrated lives, totally sold out to the Lord. So even when the Lord did not yet come, they did mind blowing exploits and died in the Lord. In our scriptural highlight for today, James was writing and encouraging brethren to be patient, to establish their hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand. We are encouraged to be patient by the Holy Spirit not just because Christ’s coming may be delayed but because, believers could lose their fire, their faith or their zeal thinking that to delay is to annul. We were also encouraged to establish our hearts. The word, establish, is used also wi

Make Alliance With Righteous Causes

Scriptural Highlight: ( 2Kings 9:17 ) - "Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he saw the company of Jehu as he came and said, 'I see a company.' And Joram said, 'Take a horseman and send to meet them and let them say, 'is it well'. So a man on horseback went to meet them and said, 'Thus says the king, 'is it peace?' And Jehu answered, 'what do you have to do with peace? Turn and ride behind me." Our scriptural highlight for today showcases a scene of battle between righteousness and evil. Joram king of Israel belonged to the family of Ahab and Jezebel, people that have troubled Israel with their sorcery, covetousness and blood spills. And a word of prophecy from Elijah had gone out against this evil house saying, "Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will utterly sweep thee away and will cut off from Ahab every man-child...(1Kings 21:21). So, in effect, God located Jehu and anointed him to fight

Counsel: Sis. Ella

Relationship: "I Don't Wants To Fall Prey!" Sis. Ella:   " Bro Oleka, good morning Sir. It's been a long time. I trust you are fine and still moving in the Faith. Sir please I want to confide in you on something very serious and important. I believe you can help me in the place of prayer and advice too. I got into a relationship with a brother friend of mine. He is born again and very spiritual. Everything have been o.k, but we are having emotional problems presently. We know it's a plot from Satan, so  I need your prayers and words from you. I don't want to fall prey!" This was a text message that greeted my phone one morning before a call from the dear sister woke me up. Below are the conversation that we had based on the text, later on, when I was ready to counsel:   Ride The Tide:  " Hi Sis. Ella, tell me more about your relationship. First of all, is it God that is bringing you guys together?"   Sis. Ella: "Ye
