The Issue With Wealth II

There is a point one can get to in life where money is no longer a challenge. If one reaches this level and care is not taken, you may discover that dependence on God on certain issues may begin to decline. Because some of the things the person used to pray about, money can now provide them. There is another category of people who have all the money they will ever need in life; and there are others that have never known what is called lack all their life. These kind of people may never understand if you tell them how impoverished people are, out their. They may see it in the television or in the papers but they may not fully come to terms with it. Some in this group can put people down to make sure they maintain position. Then, finally we have the poor folks and those trying to make ends meet. I have one problem with this last two category, especially the poor, they always think that the rich is the cause of their poverty.
You may never blame someone who was born with a silver spoon…

Understanding The Leading of The HolySpirit

Every individual who has a relationship with God has a unique way God leads he or she. Personally, God has led me in different ways but one point is clear in my dealings with God: whenever there is a topic of importance, maybe something am neglecting and God wants my attention on it, He has a way of staying my heart on the topic. For instance, there is an article I perceive I should work on and I have been kind of ignoring it; but despite my trying to ignore it, the topic won't just go away; it looks like the topic has been posted in my heart that no matter what I do I can't just get it off my memory. That is one important way God leads his people: He puts an impression or a kind of sign in your heart. It can also come in form of a burden for you to do something or make moves to correct something that is wrong. However, it is important that prayers be made to get the correct message God wants to pass or  to get the correct line of action, because, for God to use this method t…

Your Kidney Deserves The Best (Re-Post)

Barely two (2) days ago, we all received the news of the demise of a Nigerian actor as a result of same kidney disease. I want to show you how to avert this menace of kidney disease. Very easy and effective. And don't forget that I copied it. So feel free to share, copy and disseminate.
SO HERE ARE THE TOP 6 CAUSE OF KIDNEY DISEASE: 1. Delaying going to a toilet Keeping your urine in your bladder for too long is a bad idea. A full bladder can cause bladder damage. The urine that stays in the bladder multiplies bacteria quickly. Once the urine refluxes back to the ureter and kidneys, the toxic substances can result in kidney infections, then urinary tract infections, and then nephritis, and even uremia. When nature calls – do it as soon as possible. 2. Eating too much salt,You should eat no more than 5.8 grams of salt daily. 3. Eating too much meat. Too much protein in your diet is harmful for your kidneys. Protein digestion produces ammonia – a toxin that is very destructive to y…

Are We Becoming Too Used to Horror/Bad News?

I did a little traveling today and guess what I experienced. A journey of normally six hours on road, took us extra three hours. I was expecting to get to my destination latest, six or seven p.m. but I ended up reaching around 9 p.m. Why? We entered deadlocked traffic at different places caused by tragic accidents that had just happened. I can count up to four, five trailers that tumbled on the road or smashed into bush part at different points. At one point, I couldn't just bring myself to look at the tragic situation: they were bringing out dead bodies that just went to their early graves from a bridge where they just smashed into. What everyone did was normal, shake their heads and life continues. I guess we really have become used to tragedy. It now looks natural for people to die anyhow and it means nothing.
When Bokoharam insurgency started in Nigeria, people used to shudder when they hear things like, "ten people or so, so number people got bombed at so, so, place.&qu…

MY PAST HUNTS ME! HOW DO I DEAL WITH IT NOW THAT AM IN CHRIST?

DRAW A LINE BETWEEN YOUR PAST AND YOUR FUTURE !

Many people come to Christ daily but battle with the memories of their past life which probably was rough, painful or traumatic. I have seen many people who struggled to live their new found faith in Christ just because a terrible past life comes hunting: I have seen some who got delivered from occult involvements, terrible abuses, sexual lifestyles and other dehumanizing struggles battling to live the Christian life because of the height of what they had been through. For some of them even when God has forgiven their sins, they find it hard to forgive themselves. So the devil takes advantage of the struggle, self condemnation or guilt to hinder their growth in the things of the spirit. But the Bible teaches that, he that is in Christ is a new creation, old things are past away and behold all things are new. No matter what a person has done, as long as the person has not grieved the Holy Spirit, he can be saved.

So the questions is, how …

Counsel: Sis. Ella

Relationship: "I Don't Wants To Fall Prey!"
Sis. Ella:  "Bro Oleka, good morning Sir. It's been a long time. I trust you are fine and still moving in the Faith. Sir please I want to confide in you on something very serious and important. I believe you can help me in the place of prayer and advice too. I got into a relationship with a brother friend of mine. He is born again and very spiritual. Everything have been o.k, but we are having emotional problems presently. We know it's a plot from Satan, so  I need your prayers and words from you. I don't want to fall prey!"
This was a text message that greeted my phone one morning before a call from the dear sister woke me up. Below are the conversation that we had based on the text, later on, when I was ready to counsel:
Ride The Tide:  "Hi Sis. Ella, tell me more about your relationship. First of all, is it God that is bringing you guys together?" Sis. Ella: "Yes!" (with explanations to …

What Image are you carrying?

Scriptural Highlight: (Genesis 5:3) - "When Adam had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth."

Our scriptural highlight for today is about the generations of Adam after creation. Reading down from verses 1 and  2 of this Genesis chapter 5, we can see that when God created man, he made him in the likeness of God. Man was made in God's image; and as God's image was meant to reproduce God's image as well. You can say that man was god on earth. Man operated in a realm higher than any other creature. Man was in a class of his own. Man remained God's image until he disobeyed God.

From our scriptural highlight today, what we see is that when Abraham had lived 130 years, he fathered a son in his own likeness, after his image. What happened to the image and likeness of God in which he was created? It has been lost through sin. The nature he now carried was his own image and not God's.  His own offspring took afte…

I CAN'T HIDE AGAIN

I wanted to hide what I carry.
I thought that to release is to loose,
Until withholding made me smell.
It choked me and vexed my soul,
How much more neighbours.

Now I've learn't the secrete;
The river was my teacher.
I looked to the river and saw its beauty.
It flows, glides, and reflects.
Because when it outflows, then there is room for inflow.

I can't hide again!
I must shine!
I must flow!
I am the river of God.
What about you?

DEALING WITH FRUSTRATION

In this part of the world, I noticed that a lot of people vent their frustrations on others. People always look for excuses for their failure. Any little thing is blamed on the government, economy or one deficiency or the other in the environment.
Many times I would be coming back to my lodge, or going to office and suddenly on reaching my destination, the epileptic power supply will go off. The next thing people their would say is, "Ohm! This "light" has been on o and you just came and took it!" When this happens, I usually wonder whether am NEPA or PHCN that  decided to ration the power. You could see those in government blaming detractors or lack of capital for non-performance. Fire Service would blame lack of water in their tanker for not showing up on time to answer distress calls, and the list goes on.
Am not relegating the fact that genuine excuses hinder performance but you would believe with me that as long as there is still someone to take a blame, no…

REJOICE IN THE WORD

REJOICE IN THE WORD OF GOD

Scriptural Highlight: (Psalm 119:162) - "I rejoice at your word like one who finds great spoil."

From the gospel of John, chapter 1, we can deduce that the Word of God is not just what was spoken but a person: the Word is Jesus; the Word was in the beginning with God; all things were made through Him; the Word is life; the Word is the light of men; and the Word has dominion over darkness.
So from our scriptural highlight for today, we can see the reaction of Brother David: he rejoices when he catches a revelation from the word of God. Since the word of God is a person, when He is revealed, divinity is revealed;  because the word of God was in the beginning, Moses caught the Word and he wrote the book of beginnings; since through the Word, God created things, when the Word is revealed creative miracles also take place; since the Word is life, anyone who receives the word of God receives eternal life; and since the Word is light, it gives us power to…

The Issue With Wealth

It has been said that wealth is a reward for value. I agree a million times. I was discussing with a friend over something and he said, "What I want is the one that will be bringing money quick, quick". Immediately he said that I was taken aback. This kind of statement is what would be glaring, were you to cut open many hearts. But the truth is that only one percent of the world's population are controlling the wealth, others are just following and wishing they were more lucky.
The average man on the street is hustling believing that one day more than enough money will enter his account. If a new flourishing business comes to townyou will see everyone running into it looking for wealth. If for instance Nigeria discovers oil in a new sight now, many will rush to become oil workers. They are all in search of wealth. They need more money (ego, kudi, owo)! But on the other hand, wealth creators or rather value creators do not move with the trend or the hassles rather they crea…
