The Gift of God

Scriptural Highlight: (John 3:16) - "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life."

Our scriptural highlight for today talks about God's love for the world. God loved the world. He didn't just stop  at "I love the world", He gave. And what God gave was His only Son, Jesus Christ. One day I made some sacrifices that cost me something big; I thought this was it; God must appreciate this. God offcourse appreciated but He told me something. He said to me "Until you give your all....." There is nothing we can do for God that outweighs what He already did for us. Some people become unusually proud because maybe they sponsored God's work, or their tithe is usually bigger than others and all that.

If not for the gift of Jesus, the world was doomed; we were headed for death, we were in the world without hope. The gift of Jesus was simply the love of God reaching out to an undeserving people. He did not mind all the atrocities of the world, the filthiness, the uncleanness, the despicable acts of humanity. Bible is clear that without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin (Hebrews 9:22). He chose to shed His blood. John 15:13 says, "Greater love hath no one than this: to lay down one's life for his friend." Jesus did so that we might not perish.

However, all these love and priviledges in Christ are for those that believe in Jesus: "...so that whosoever believes should not perish but have eternal life. Eternal life is God's kind of life - Zoweh. It is a life of glory and triumph.

The gift of God is eternal life. And eternal life contains the following:
  1. Life of glory: Hebrew 2:10 -  For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
  2. Guidance and leadership of the indwelling Holy Spirit: John 14:15-17 - "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments. "I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.…
  3. Divine health:  (Isaiah 53:5) - But he was wounded for our transgressions, and he was crushed for our iniquities, and the punishment that made us whole was upon him, and by his bruises we are healed.
  4. Blessings: Galatians 2:13 - Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole."
  5. Authority over powers: Ephesians 1:22 - "And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church,…"
  6. Hope of life after death-heaven: 1Corinthians15:19 - "If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied."
Having highlighted this few points on the gift on God, make up your mind today that you will not miss out of what God has freely given. Flourish!

Pray: Father in Heaven I believe in the Lord Jesus and confess Him as my Lord and Saviour. Let divine life in Christ overtake me from today in Jesus name.

The Issue With Wealth II

There is a point one can get to in life where money is no longer a challenge. If one reaches this level and care is not taken, you may discover that dependence on God on certain issues may begin to decline. Because some of the things the person used to pray about, money can now provide them. There is another category of people who have all the money they will ever need in life; and there are others that have never known what is called lack all their life. These kind of people may never understand if you tell them how impoverished people are, out their. They may see it in the television or in the papers but they may not fully come to terms with it. Some in this group can put people down to make sure they maintain position. Then, finally we have the poor folks and those trying to make ends meet. I have one problem with this last two category, especially the poor, they always think that the rich is the cause of their poverty. You may never blame someone who was born with a silver

MY PAST HUNTS ME! HOW DO I DEAL WITH IT NOW THAT AM IN CHRIST?

DRAW A LINE BETWEEN YOUR PAST AND YOUR FUTURE ! Many people come to Christ daily but battle with the memories of their past life which probably was rough, painful or traumatic. I have seen many people who struggled to live their new found faith in Christ just because a terrible past life comes hunting: I have seen some who got delivered from occult involvements, terrible abuses, sexual lifestyles and other dehumanizing struggles battling to live the Christian life because of the height of what they had been through. For some of them even when God has forgiven their sins, they find it hard to forgive themselves. So the devil takes advantage of the struggle, self condemnation or guilt to hinder their growth in the things of the spirit. But the Bible teaches that, he that is in Christ is a new creation, old things are past away and behold all things are new. No matter what a person has done, as long as the person has not grieved the Holy Spirit, he can be saved. So the que
