Scriptural Highlight: (Psalm 92:12_13) - "The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Labanon; plated in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the  courts of our God."

The name of our devotional  in this platform is Daily Flourish and the revelation behind it is simply our scriptural highlight for today. The word of God is telling us today the undeniable attributes of the righteous: they flourish. To flourish is to succeed despite obstacles, challenges or bad climate. To flourish is to bring forth praise unto God. Today's devotional will not be enough to exhaust what it means for the righteous to flourish what is important is for you to understand what God has made us to become.

Firstly, why did God compare the success of the righteous to that of palm tree?
  1. The palm tree is a tree whose growth is unique: In some conditions it may take long before it springs up but definitely it would spring up. There is nothing about palm tree to invite much attention. Even a mere observation, shows that others trees quickly outgrows the palm at the early stage but on the long run the  palm will catch up and later over tops all other trees. David said, "I have seen a wicked, ruthless man flourishing like a luxuriant native tree, but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found (Psalm37:35-36). This is the case when you compare the palm tree with others. The palm is one of the most long lasting trees; it survives the severe conditions that kills others trees. Beloved, hear God's word to you today, as long as God is your source, your growth is unique, you can't be stopped nor hindered. What caused others to fizzle out in destiny will be the same thing that will distinguish you.
  2. The older the palm tree gets the better its fruits: The palm tree is indeed unique. While other trees tend to loose value with aging, the palm tree's fruits becomes more luscious, sweeter and abundant with time. It bears early and late-has an extended fruit season—does not bear fruit for itself; holds forth its fruitage in clusters, so that one can help himself to much or little as may be desired. How appropriate all this is to the righteous characteristic. The longer the Christian is in the way of the Lord, the sweeter and more abundant his fruitage—the fruits of the spirit—love, joy, peace, brotherly kindness and all those kindred virtues enumerated by the Apostle Paul. Come to the Christian early or late, in season or out of season, and secure this fruitage in large or small measure, as may be desired. We have not this fruitage for self, but for others in need. Here again we note the appropriateness of the text to the righteous characteristics. They (the righteous) "shall flourish like the palm tree."

Just as we have highlighted, flourish is our character, it is who we are in Christ. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, called and set apart just for our God. Nothing can take that away from us. Flourish
Pray: Lord, according to your word, am destined to flourish in Christ Jesus; so shall it be for me in Jesus name.

The Issue With Wealth II

There is a point one can get to in life where money is no longer a challenge. If one reaches this level and care is not taken, you may discover that dependence on God on certain issues may begin to decline. Because some of the things the person used to pray about, money can now provide them. There is another category of people who have all the money they will ever need in life; and there are others that have never known what is called lack all their life. These kind of people may never understand if you tell them how impoverished people are, out their. They may see it in the television or in the papers but they may not fully come to terms with it. Some in this group can put people down to make sure they maintain position. Then, finally we have the poor folks and those trying to make ends meet. I have one problem with this last two category, especially the poor, they always think that the rich is the cause of their poverty. You may never blame someone who was born with a silver

Establish Your Hearts

Scriptural Highlight: ( James 5: 8 ) – “Be ye also patient, establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand.” In the time of the early disciples, they thought that the second coming of the Lord Jesus was going to be in their days. As a result, there was a kind of life they lived: They lived every day of their lives expecting His return; They lived prepared and consecrated lives, totally sold out to the Lord. So even when the Lord did not yet come, they did mind blowing exploits and died in the Lord. In our scriptural highlight for today, James was writing and encouraging brethren to be patient, to establish their hearts: for the coming of the Lord is at hand. We are encouraged to be patient by the Holy Spirit not just because Christ’s coming may be delayed but because, believers could lose their fire, their faith or their zeal thinking that to delay is to annul. We were also encouraged to establish our hearts. The word, establish, is used also wi
